Donor Designated Funds

Funds to benefit agencies

Donor-designated funds distribute grants to agencies specified by the donor at the time the fund is established.

    Lee Blenkush, Paul Dilley and Henry Tvedt Memorial
    Established 1993
    The families of the three men established this fund to sustain their legacy of service to our community’s youth who are involved with the court system.

    Bernelda W. Busian Donor-Designated Fund
    Established 2004
    The children of Bernelda W. Busian created this fund to provide perpetual care for the Evergreen Cemetery in rural Dover, where Mrs. Busian is buried. The cemetery’s association plans to use the fund for long-needed capital improvement projects.

    Pam Frangipane Memorial Fund for Rochester Area Habitat for Humanity
    Established 1999
    The family of Pam Frangipane, Charles Nelsen’s daughter, created this fund in her memory to benefit those individuals with basic needs within the community.

    Rickee Henoch Art
    Established 1989
    Rickee Henoch lived in Rochester from 1973 until her death in 1988. She worked with her husband, Phillip Henoch, in the operation of McDonald’s Restaurants in Rochester.

    Rickee Henoch Music
    Established 1989
    Rickee Henoch dearly loved music. She was a strong believer that music is an integral part of a community’s spirit and deserves unwavering support.

    Rickee Henoch KLSE/KZSE Public Radio
    Established 1992
    Rickee Henoch believed in the importance of public radio. Income earned will provide ongoing support to Minnesota Public Radio stations KLSE and KZSE in Rochester.

    Alan E. Hiley Memorial Hockey
    Established 2002
    In 1987, the family of Alan E. Hiley created this fund to sustain Alan’s long-standing support of youth hockey. During his lifetime, Alan quietly ensured that youth could access equipment needed to participate in youth hockey and could pay association fees. The fund provides "scholarships" for basic city league youth hockey and equipment required to play hockey safely.

    Sheila Howe Memorial Scholarship
    Established 2000
    The Sheila Howe Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to an aspiring dancer at the Rochester Ballet School, where Sheila Howe studied dance for several years. It also has been awarded for higher education in dance.

    W.P. and Thena Iwen Scouting
    Established 1992
    W.P. and Thena Iwen actively participated in the Pine Island community. The fund will provide annual support to the Pine Island Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

    St. Olaf Heritage Association - Robert and Lois Jorstad
    Established 2008
    St. Olaf Heritage Association was organized in cooperation with the Lutheran churches of the area to preserve the historical John P. Tverberg House. This cabin was saved from demolition in 1975 and preserved to its original 1856-1870 era condition, and is considered to be the first home of the St. Olaf Parish. The fund will be used for future care and maintenance.

    Stewartville Area Historical Society Fund - Robert and Lois Jorstad
    Established 2004
    Robert and Lois Jorstad lived in Stewartville for a quarter-century, during which time Robert served as schools superintendent there. When they moved to Rochester in 2001, the couple donated many items of interest to the Stewartville Area Historical Society. The new fund will help the society with the upkeep of its collections.

    Bernice Krug
    Established 2000
    Bernice Krug included instructions in her will that the following four charities receive gifts without restriction as to the use of the funds: Quarry Hill Nature Center, Rochester Civic Music Association, Rochester Public Library and the Salvation Army.

    Kristi Lambert Memorial Scholarship
    Established 2000
    The Kristi Lambert Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Mayo High School student Kristi Lambert, who volunteered to help many who were less able or less fortunate. She was known for her selfless service. The scholarship is awarded annually to graduating Mayo seniors.

    Charles Nelsen Memorial Fund for Dorothy Day Hospitality House
    Established 1999
    The family of Charles Nelsen, co-owner of Quality Plumbing and Heating, created this fund in his memory to benefit those individuals with basic needs within the community.
